Who does not like the idea of a security fence? They are fresh and fun. As a child I dreamed about how to do special things hiding, both inside and out. It was not very sophisticated. Usually a small box or discharge tube of some kind that would keep me happy. Of course, hide-and-go-seek was always my game favorite. As an adult, I still have a fascination with all things secret and cunning. Secret codes, hidden compartments, mistakes, top-secret information, listening devices, that kind of thing. I think the appeal of a security wall comes from the excitement of knowing something someone does not.
Sometimes a security wall is better when it masquerades as something common, something that we all used to seeing. Valuables not always have to be hidden behind a bookcase or face painting luxury mobile. Moreover, most of us can not afford it anyway, and studies have shown that a burglar spends only a few minutes in a place that the intention of stealing. I'm pretty sure that looking back shelves and tables is something any respectable thief not immediately.
So, as I said, sometimes a security fence is best when simple. For example, one of my favorites is little safes that look like a common electrical outlet and the wall plate. They are cheap, super easy to install, and just downright fun. I am sure that anyone who wanted could even make one. To install one of these simply cut a small rectangle of drywall in place and paste on the wall inside unsafe. Now you can hide valuables small in a place so common that a thief will not even think to look there. I even read that in some electoral districts, the police are finding that these small economic units are better than an expensive insurance locked!
Now I have to admit that this little gadget is a little under dressed for occasion. A problem is that only small items fit. Another obvious disadvantage is that is not blocked, which means that someone could accidentally access it, and, finally, that offers no protection against fire. A wall safe that is more appropriate for the protection of weapons or large amounts of cash, passports, deeds, etc., certainly has to be enclosed and provide a degree of fire protection. Oh, not a security wall for such purposes. These are designed to be installed in any standard 2×4 or 2×6 wall framed. It could even be built into a cabinet. Outside of these safes tend to have ways to attach things like pictures, mirrors, dart boards, or other elements that are hidden safe
Like most things, you get what you pay, and a security fence is no different. The litmus test for, can be hidden in a creative, fingerprints have high technology or technology access number costs a fortune. I would, however, definitely opt for one of these if there was any firearm or other dangerous items or high value to hide. Until then I think I'll try to do something simple and fun, like an empty book. Wish me luck!
