Safety tips Home security when you're home alone
Safe Home Security advised to take precautions and follow certain basic safety measures when you're home alone, especially when someone comes to your door. These safeguards are especially useful for the elderly, babysitters, living alone and "latchkey" children (children returning to an empty house after school because one or both parents work, or usually children spend much time alone at home.)
In addition to alarm systems for home, a truly effective security tactic around the world has at its disposal is its internal alarm warning, your gut feeling response to potential danger. This internal warning system may be your best friend in the face of danger.
Many home invasions occur as a result of deception by the intruder. Just ask for directions or posing as employees of improvement home, delivery people, anyone with problems, etc, so learning to trust his instincts are very, very important. If a stranger knocks on your door or rings the doorbell door and you feel fear or suspect your instincts are sending a warning. Take a moment to decide whether or not you really want to open the door. Stay alert, trust your instincts! Open the door can not be the best decision! If you think you may be in danger, consider these tactics: safe house:
First, always use a peephole to identify who's at your door. Never open the door if you can not identify or know the person on the other side.
Keep the door closed, talking to the person. Instruct them to present identification. Before opening the door, screaming loud enough to hear the person out of you say something along the lines of "I'll go get Jacob" or "I'll do it!" This creates the perception that there are other people in the house with you. Calling a man with a strong voice in question can be very effective. If the person says they are in danger, keep the door closed and offer to get help for them.
When open the door, always carry a cordless phone or cell phone with you. If you are on the phone, went to bed and do not hang with the friend who is speaking. You may even want to call someone and let them know that you are worried about a stranger at your door, and then stay connected to them on the phone until you feel the situation is and that is safe. This allows your friend to hear what is happening and ask for help if necessary. If your friend is a neighbor who may be able come to control your condition.
If you have a panic alarm, alarm keychain or key, is with you and be ready to use. Keep near the door or your person so you can use it anytime your instinct tells you that you may be in trouble. You're always better off to hit the panic alarm and have your company for your call. If you have submitted a false alarm, just let them know, but it is always better than cure.
Remember, before open the door, use your instincts to assess the situation. If the person at your door is threatening you, using the functions of the panic alarm, or simply pick up the phone and call for help in some way: call a friend, police, etc, and stay on the phone. This way, you know someone connected with you and know what is happening until the police arrive.
Finally, be sure to teach children and caregivers about the risks of opening a door to foreigners. And make sure your doors are well constructed, with strong locks. It is not uncommon to maintain the blockade, but the door frame or door to give way to forced.
Just because you're alone does not mean you have to be an easy target for criminals. Use these tips and your instinct to stay out of danger and away from the threat of theft. Safe home security also suggests installing an alarm system monitored by professionals, so if you are at home or away from home at least your house is continuously monitored. Signaling the alarm company is the only (posters, window decals, etc.) goes a long way to increase your safety when you're home.
