How to safely store all your passwords.
Do you have online accounts with?
- Banks
- 401 accounts IRA K
- Online trading accounts
- Buy items on eBay Amazon Web sites other
- They have email accounts mail in GMAIL, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.
It's all your passwords the same? If someone guesses your password, email, does automatically be able to access your account for 401 K???
What if you're in a car accident, and nobody in your family can access to their accounts online? Yes, someone else can call and explain the situation, and then it could take weeks to resolve. In fairness to the banks and companies credit card, do you really want someone easier access to their accounts?
If you have a lot of different online accounts, with each a little different password user name, and is often forgotten, you may want to store in a safe place.
A safe place is NOT under the keyboard or on a yellow sticky.
You can use Kee Pass Software. (It's free) Kee Pass will store all your passwords in a secure archive. This file is saved on a USB drive, and stored in a safe place. If anyone ever hack into your computer, you can not access the file because it is not connected. If someone finds your USB stick, you still have to break the encryption.
Kee Pass uses advanced software encryption standard (AES / Rijandael) with a key size of 256 bits. (For those of you who do not understand the encryption, all I know this is really safe and very difficult to break.)
Here is how to store all your passwords securely.
1) get 2 USB memory sticks, the 4 GB are fine, but in reality any size to do. The 4 GB will cost about $ 20 each day. Yes, you need two of them. You can also get iron key, but this is much more money.
2) Get the PASS Kee (pronounced Pass number) and download the zip version.
a. http://keepass.info/download.html A version for use for now, until version 2 is no longer beta.
b. Download and create a directory on your USB drive and save there.
c. Extract all files in the same directory.
3) Since the USB drive, run the KeePass.exe
4) Create a new database, under files, new. Save the file in the same directory as the programs. It takes up little space.
5) Create a password for this file. This password must be different from all your passwords from others.
This will be the primary key to open the database.
NOTE: If you forget the password, NO Can be retrieved.
6) Leave all options with it.
7) To add an entry in the menu, select Edit, Add Entry
For the title, put in a title.
User name, put the username.
For password, put him on two occasions.
You can complete the other fields, if necessary.
To recover the password, open kee pass, and click the right pane, double-click the entry. On the right you will see three points that will show you the password.
9) Once you have finished saving your passwords, exiting.
10) Now copy that directory to your other USB Stick.
11) Take two sticks and store in a safe place. Such as:
A safe
A safe
A locked drawer.
Both USB sticks should be in different places.
12) Once this is setup, you should tell someone the password for the base Data Kee Pass. Some of you might think this is a security hole, but in the case of a car accident or a similar problem, someone really needs to know the password.
