Safe Burglar Burglary
Most burglaries are attempted by opportunist thieves and every two out of ten burglaries do not even use force to break through in receive an open window or door. It is important to fit strong locks on doors and windows of their property and keep them fully locked when not required.
Some key points to remember:
- If you have forgotten or lost keys you think of a way to get into your property? If so, a thief can also enter
- Is there an isolated place where one is trying to break in without being seen or heard? If so, this is ideal for a thief.
- Exterior lighting Fit security with infrared detectors to protect isolated areas of your garden.
- Do not keep a spare key in a place so obvious as a doormat or in a mailbox. Thieves look in these places.
- Never hang your spare keys inside the mailbox. Decide on a safe place to hang the spare keys and let your family know – in case of an emergency.
- It may be helpful to leave notes at your front door to inform his friends that will be "back in an hour", however, this information is useful for thieves who are known to be off your property for some time.
- Always let your neighbors know if they will go for long periods of time for them to maintain an eye on your property.
- Consider fitting a door viewer to your main entrance of your property so you can identify to the caller before opening the door.
- If you move to a new property, have all locks changed immediately. You never know who else has a copy of the keys.
Some thieves can trick your way to your property. One can say that are of a public utility or you can order a glass of water or some other excuse. Do not let them in. If you are a company and insist that you must enter for any reason, do not let them until a) you've seen his ID card. b) by telephone to your employer to confirm who they are. Only when you are 100% sure, left If you enter are genuine, that does not care.
