Safes AMSEC has come a long way in the last 60 years
American Security Products has been around since 1948, and is most commonly known as AMSEC. AMSEC Safe was started by Glenn Hall. When installed, it started with just a welder and a lathe. He wanted to build a safe, to build something that could withstand an attack by a thief today. As thieves became more intelligent and creative, it was important that the safes to be more difficult to decipher. Because of this, AMSEC has strived to be innovative in the security industry.
One of the first AMSEC safes innovative designs round was safe doors. The round door is more secure but very expensive to make. Spending came mainly from the complex machining for the doors throughout the year. But no matter the cost, the security of a round vault door became an industry standard for many years. Although I have not seen many vault doors in real life, I remember that the doors of most seen in the movies as a child were round. Why are round the door safer? Not sure, but offer no corners to be thieves to try to force open. Therefore, the round vault door was also applied home and business safes.
In the last 40 years, safe at home and weapon have become more popular. Only the wealthy had safes 60 to 100 years ago, but now, many media have a safe in your home to protect weapons, valuables, documents, collectibles and what not more than theft, fire or safety reasons.
As safe became more popular, AMSEC sought ways to lower the cost to the average homeowner. The round door from the budget of many middle class Americans, so he came up with a square in the safe that was more profitable. A door could be cut square steel plates, and is now immersed in water actually cut by a plasma cutter, which allows steel to cut and precise rules in mass quantities. The square door requires innovative changes in the lock and locking mechanisms to maintain the same level of security as the doors throughout the year.
In the decade 1990, AMSEC safe became the first U.S. company to receive the highest of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Rating TL15 and TL30 theft. They won this requirement in its innovative new compound designed insurance. These safes are made of sheet steel and concrete drive.
AMSEC safe quality standards were set too high. When it comes to shape, strength, reliability and quality that meet these standards using the latest technology Welding and according to the state of the art equipment for manufacturing. Another way to meet these self-imposed rules is by testing your locks electronic standard method MIL-0202 106 (considered the best way to test the reliability of electronic systems) in an environment chamber. The camera the locks subject to large fluctuations in humidity and temperature.
AMSEC today manufactures the bulk of safes in the industry, producing more than 600,000 boxes year. They do in Fontana, California in a factory that was expanded in 1998 to a 150,000 square foot facility. You have to employ over 400 people, including 24-hour customer service representatives toll-free line. It is safe to say that the safe AMSEC has come a long way from small shop in Paramount Glenn Hall.
